This week, the representatives of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations CEPT had their meeting in Berlin. The aim of the meeting was to prepare the agenda of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference in September/October 2022. As host Germany organized a boat cruise on the occasion of the event and my candidacy for Director Standardization at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) including the German candidacy for the ITU Council.

Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Development Bureau, and Mario Maniewicz, Director of ITU's Radiocommunication Bureau, gave presentations during the meetings.

After an insightful technical exchange during the first day, the participants had the chance to explore Berlin from the river Spree on an eco-friendly solar catamaran. Tobias Kaufmann, Bundesnetzagentur and Florian Spiteller, DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies) gave opening remarks. A special thanks also goes to Cristina Flutur and Jaroslaw K. Ponder for their insightful chairmanship and organizational efforts.

Building bridges – with ITU and beyond!
